Job summary

HELIX Environmental Planning, Inc. is seeking an experienced Habitat Restoration Lead to join our Los Angeles area team (El Monte).

The role involves leading restoration crews, transporting them to job sites, conducting daily safety tailgate meetings, and ensuring compliance with HELIX safety standards while assisting with client interactions and data reporting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with 3+ years in landscape or habitat

Qualifications

• 3+ years of landscape and/or habitat restoration experience.
• Able to operate a smart phone and electronic devices for reporting purposes.
• Willingness to travel out of town occasionally (overnight stays).
• Must have a valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record over the last three years.
• Must be physically able to work in varying terrain and weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Experience operating small equipment such as weed whacker, chainsaw, backpack sprayer, hedger, pole saw, etc.

Responsibilities

• Oversee crews at maintenance and/or construction sites.
• Transport crew to job sites in company vehicles, possibly hauling trailers.
• Lead daily safety tailgate meetings and ensure HELIX safety standards are followed.
• Train and direct crew members, and perform tasks alongside the crew.
• Interact with clients and project managers as needed and report data.
