Job summary

Florida State University’s Florida Center for Reading Research seeks Project OPAL Early Childhood Assessors and Interventionists for a part-time OPS role in Tallahassee. You will administer assessments and implement a 12-week phonemic awareness intervention to support literacy development in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten.

Hiring and paid training will begin in June/July 2026, with field work from August 2026 through May 2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with children ages 4-6.
• Willingness to travel to schools daily.
• Ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Administer standardized assessments.
• Implement a 12-week phonemic awareness intervention.
• Maintain accurate records and follow research protocols.
• Coordinate with teachers and research staff.
• Travel daily to assigned sites.
