Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is seeking a CPI Investigator Trainee for a mobile, field-based role in Beeville, TX. You will respond to reports of alleged child abuse, gather information, assess safety, and collaborate with schools, law enforcement, and courts to protect children.

This position requires visiting families in homes, schools, and community sites, with significant travel and after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel and attend child/family visits after 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations involving children.
• Conducts forensic investigations of abuse/neglect.
• Interviews parents, caregivers and others involved in cases.
• Maintains thorough case documentation and forms.
