Job summary

The State of Alaska is hiring an Adult Probation Officer 3 in Kodiak to supervise and manage adult felony offenders, including field contacts and court-related reporting. You will conduct assessments and coordinate treatment referrals to support public safety goals.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and relevant probation/criminal justice experience; substitution options exist. Travel within Kodiak area and to training sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
• Two years of professional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, or related fields.
• Six years in combination of postsecondary education and paraprofessional experience as described; education hours convert to months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage cases for adult felony offenders.
• Conduct office meetings and interviews; perform risk/need assessments and urinalysis.
• Coordinate referrals for treatment; conduct field contacts and offender transports.
