We design specialty innovations, smart instruments and devices, integrated ecosystems, and intelligent imaging to build a more connected, software-enabled operating room.

As an independent, family-owned MedTech company, we ambitiously think in generations instead of quarters to improve patients' lives around the world.

About The Role

At KARL STORZ, we are shaping the future of the digital operating room. As a Product Deployment Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering advanced operating room integration solutions that help healthcare providers improve efficiency, communication, and patient outcomes.

This highly visible, field-based position combines technical expertise, customer interaction, and hands-on installation work within hospital and surgical environments. Working alongside experienced Site Leads and deployment teams, you will install, configure, and support integrated OR systems that include audio-visual technology, network infrastructure, software applications, and imaging solutions.

If you enjoy travel, thrive in fast-paced technical environments, and take pride in delivering a high-quality customer experience, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills while directly supporting cutting-edge healthcare technology.

This is a field-based role requiring up to 80% travel across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Flexible availability for project-based schedules, including occasional evenings and weekends, is required.

What You'll Do
  • Install and deploy integrated operating room systems, including AV, network, and software technologies within hospital environments.
  • Perform equipment installation, cable pulling, termination, cable management, and system setup in accordance with established standards and project requirements.
  • Configure software applications, network-connected devices, and OR integration platforms to support successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with Site Leads, deployment teams, customers, and hospital personnel to execute projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures, safety protocols, installation standards, and hospital requirements while maintaining a professional onsite presence.
  • Complete project documentation, time reporting, expense submissions, and administrative responsibilities accurately and on time.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in audio-visual systems, cabling, networking, medical devices, field service, technology deployment, or related industries.
  • Experience with cable installation, termination, equipment mounting, or network-based systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and work independently while maintaining a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements and maintain facility access.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working in an integrated operating room, healthcare, or hospital environment.
  • Familiarity with CAT5/6, fiber optic, coaxial, copper, or multi-conductor cabling systems.
  • Knowledge of cable termination methods, including solder, crimp, compression, or fiber termination.
  • Experience mounting displays, speakers, racks, or other AV equipment.
  • Basic understanding of control systems, networking equipment, video systems, or power amplifiers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation diagrams.
What Will Make You Successful
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service in clinical environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality, safety, and process compliance.
  • The ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply technical knowledge in the field.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support teammates to achieve project goals.
  • Adaptability and professionalism when working in dynamic healthcare environments with changing schedules and priorities.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a desire to develop technical expertise and expand your capabilities.
