Job summary

Ford Audio Video (Ford AV) seeks a hands-on Field Engineer to test, troubleshoot, and fine-tune commercial AV systems across a variety of environments. You will travel to project sites and ensure each system performs at its best, with about 50% travel and a per diem of $40 for overnight stays.

Responsibilities include running performance checks, troubleshooting on-site, configuring IP-addressable devices, and coordinating system handovers.

Qualifications

• Experience testing and troubleshooting commercial AV systems.
• Familiarity with control systems and DSP.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP configuration, routers/switches).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Hands-on engineering experience may substitute for formal degree.

Responsibilities

• Run performance checks and verify AV system functionality.
• Troubleshoot on-site to minimize downtime.
• Label connections, configure IP-addressable devices, and handover details.
• Travel frequently to project sites locally and internationally.
• Work with clients to ensure systems meet expectations.
