Job summary

Hoffman Family of Companies seeks a Site Engineer to ensure functional BAS/PLC system performance, accurate documentation, and safety compliance on multiple projects. You will manage schedules, mitigate risks, and provide on-site programming and field support, coordinating with subcontractors and internal teams.

The role requires extensive travel up to 75%, site visits, and strong project management skills to keep milestones on track while maintaining rigorous safety standards and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics or related field is required.
• Experience managing construction or building automation/controls projects including scope, schedule, budget, and subcontractor management.
• Proficiency with Smartsheet (or similar) for building and managing complex project plans, reports, dashboards, and workflows.
• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe).
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% to job sites and customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements, sequence of operation, programming, and system types.
• Assist onsite performance verification to confirm system functionality.
• Maintain project documentation including wiring diagrams, DP/PLC programs, HMIs, and displays.
• Support commissioning documentation and coordinate with programming team for complete closeout.
• Develop and maintain project plans using Smartsheet, MS Project, Procore, CX Alloy with dashboards and automated workflows.
• Facilitate communication among project stakeholders to meet milestones.
• Generate analytical reports on project metrics, financial data, and performance for decision-making.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics or related field
