Komatsu is seeking a Field Assembler to join our National Field Service team. You will travel across the United States, assembling heavy mining equipment on-site, including rope shovels and electric drive trucks, with extensive overtime opportunities.

The role requires hands-on mechanical work, welding as a core skill, and the ability to work 13–14 hour days while on the road. AWS D1.1 certification with FCAW welding test is required, MSHA training preferred.

Komatsu is looking for an Assembler to join our National Field Service team! In this role, you will travel across the United States assembly heavy mining equipment, being on the road up to 6 weeks at a time, with lots of overtime available.

The main responsibilities will include:

• Assemble new heavy mining equipment on-site, primarily including Komatsu rope shovels and electric drive truck assemblies.
• Perform mechanical assembly work in demanding field environments across the West and Southwest, including areas such as Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, California, and other Western U.S. locations
• Use mechanical, welding, and heavy industrial trade skills to support equipment builds at customer locations.
• Conducting field mechanical maintenance and repairs on various mining equipment, ensuring all tasks are performed to the highest standards.
• Executing precise welding operations in the field, following all safety and quality protocols.
• Traveling throughout the U.S. to provide on-site support, troubleshooting, and repair services to our customers.
• Operating heavy machinery safely and efficiently while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
• Performing field machining activities, utilizing specialized tools and knowledge to meet the needs of specific projects.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on mechanical experience and be comfortable working in heavy industrial environments. Preferred backgrounds include:

• Mining, construction, oil field, or other heavy industrial experience
• Welding experience, with welding identified as a primary desired skill set for this role.
• 5G welding experience is preferred.

• Certification in AWS D1.1 with successful completion of the FCAW welding test.
• Current MSHA training certification to ensure compliance with safety regulations in the mining industry preferred
• Completion of rigging training, enabling you to perform lifting and rigging activities competently and safely

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$29.06 - $37.32. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
