Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in San Antonio is seeking an Archaeological Technician to assist in field surveys and laboratory tasks supporting cultural resource management. You will document sites, collect GPS data, and help process artifacts while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of a university-based archaeological field school.
  • Minimum of 3–6 months of archaeological field and/or lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct archaeological field surveys, including shovel testing and site documentation, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Collect and record GPS data for field observations and site locations.
  • Clean, label, catalog, and curate artifacts in accordance with lab standards and guidelines.
  • Assist with maintenance, inventory, and organization of field and lab equipment.
  • Support preparation of documentation, reports, and deliverables for cultural resource management compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in all project tasks.
