Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Field Data Specialist – Archaeologist for Northern California. This part-time, field-based role requires travel to project sites, data collection, artifact identification, GPS data collection, and mapping.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Archaeology/Anthropology, field-school experience, and 2+ years in California field tasks, with independent work and teamwork skills. Driver’s license and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related discipline.
• Completion of an archaeological field school or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of California field experience (survey, monitoring, site recording).
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and own transportation; travel often required.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; GPS/Field Maps experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pedestrian surveys, construction monitoring, and testing with data collection.
• Coordinate with construction crews on monitoring needs and schedules.
• Maintain project files and confidentiality.
• Adhere to regulatory standards in environmental areas.
• Interact with customers and clients.
