Field Archaeologist

Overview

As a Field Archaeologist for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will work on various projects including Phase I archaeological surveys, Phase II evaluations, and Phase III mitigation projects. You will have opportunities to travel across different US regions. Join a team that navigates today's complex environmental regulatory landscape, assisting our clients with Cultural Resource compliance under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

The typical duration of fieldwork ranges from 1-7 days, with some larger projects lasting 20-30 days. If you enjoy outdoor work, have an inquisitive mind, and are comfortable getting dirty, this is an excellent opportunity for you.

Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field
  • Ability to speak and write professionally
  • Previous archaeology experience, including internship or field school, is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with archaeological field methods, GPS devices, data collectors/total stations, and GIS is preferred
