Job summary

Georgia Right of Way in South Georgia is seeking a Utility Arborist / Forester Line Patrol Specialist to support vegetation management and ROW inspections across the territory. The role emphasizes independent field work, terrain navigation, and documenting observations with GIS tools.

The position requires ISA certification, pesticide licensing progress within 6 months, and ability to travel the four-day, 40-hour workweek schedule while coordinating with landowners and utility staff.

Qualifications

• College Degree in Forestry or related field
• ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and GIS applications
• Basic GIS understanding
• Ability to operate an ATV
• Ability to operate a pickup truck
• Ability to walk utility rights-of-way on uneven terrain and in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Conduct right-of-way inspections and identify vegetation maintenance needs
• Evaluate hazards to electrical infrastructure and document field observations
• Interact with landowners when necessary and travel throughout the territory
• Document findings and ensure safety and reliability of utility infrastructure
