Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd. is seeking a Field Applications Scientist, Bioinformatics, to partner closely with our Sales team and customers.

You’ll provide pre- and post-sales technical expertise across our sequencing platforms and software—helping researchers design experiments, analyze data, and achieve successful outcomes while strengthening long‑term relationships. This is a field-based role supporting customers across the Northeast region.

Qualifications

• PhD in Life Sciences or equivalent with strong genomics background.
• Experience in field applications/technical support and genomic data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Perl and UNIX environments; AWS experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to deliver technical consultations across the sales cycle.
• Provide on-site and remote support at key accounts and conferences.
• Design experiments, software usage workflows, and data analysis approaches.
• Manage customer relationships from a technical perspective and document interactions in CRM.
• Monitor market trends and share insights with product teams.
