Job summary

Broadcom Inc. in San Jose seeks an experienced Core Switching Group Software Field Applications Engineer to support XGS-Tomahawk products in AI clusters.

You will work with top cloud customers, run switch development kits, and assist in OS/platform integration. The role requires deep knowledge of embedded Linux, Ethernet L2/L3 switching, and bug fixes, with strong communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with field sales and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in embedded networking software design and development
• Ability to read millions of lines of code and write patches
• Expertise in Ethernet L2/L3 switching protocols; field applications engineer experience is beneficial
• BS EE/CS required; strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team player, independent, adaptable to changing market requirements, able to multitask

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in running switch development kit in their OS/platform environment
• Identify software bugs and write/suggest patches
• Explain and demonstrate API usage for features like traffic management, congestion control, scheduling
• Provide SDK overview presentations
• Collaborate with Field Sales Engineers to grow demand for Broadcom Wired Segment products
• Act as technical liaison between Core Switching Group and customers
