Job summary

Broadcom in San Jose is seeking a Software Field Applications Engineer to support the XGS-Tomahawk switches in AI clusters. You will work with top cloud customers, help run switch development kits in Linux environments, identify bugs, and suggest API-driven feature implementations.

This onsite role requires 8 years in embedded networking, strong Ethernet L2/L3 knowledge, and the ability to patch code while communicating clearly with field sales and customer teams.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in embedded networking software design and development.
Ability to read and modify large codebases and write patches.
Strong understanding of Ethernet L2/L3 switching protocols; field applications experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in running the switch development kit in their OS environment (Linux).
Identify software bugs and propose fixes or patches.
Explain APIs for features like traffic management, congestion control, and scheduling.
Serve as technical liaison between Core Switching Group software teams and customers.
