Job summary

A leading automotive technology provider in Northville, Michigan is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to develop and support customer test equipment. This role involves hands-on work with dynamometer systems and requires experience in automotive testing. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and has at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service are essential for this position. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience in automotive testing and engineering.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • Familiarity with automotive testing procedures and test definitions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support customer test equipment and personnel.
  • Commission Dynamometer Test Systems and configure related equipment.
  • Analyze data from Dynamometers and create custom reports for customers.
  • Train customers on using REPS Dynamometer Testing software.

Skills

Familiarity with LabVIEW and PLC programming
Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical schematics
Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Flexibility to support service activity both off-site and outside of normal working hours
Exceptional work ethic and positive attitude
Strong attention to detail
Strong time management and organizational skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
3 years of relevant work experience

Microsoft Office applications
Dynamometer control software
