Job summary

Electronic Careers is seeking a Field Applications Engineer for Southern California to support military and aerospace customers. You will engage with engineering teams, review specifications, and propose optimal RF interconnect solutions while traveling to customer sites as needed.

You will interact with Marketing and Sales to develop product pricing, respond to technical issues, and help craft customer-facing materials. 3–5 years in RF interconnects and a US person are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in RF interconnects.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly is a plus.
• US Person required.

Responsibilities

• Engage customer base in the engineering design phase for new product development
• Perform technical review of customer specifications
• Make recommendations for the optimal product solution to meet customer requirements
• Assess the cost impact of customer requirements, changes to develop cost estimates
• Create customer-facing configuration and specification drawings in support of proposals
• Travel to customer sites as needed to support existing business and win new opportunities
• Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and standards to develop product designs
• Monitor industry/market trends and requirements to provide input into new product innovations and anticipated customer demands
• Work with Marketing to identify product and pricing to compete in the territory
• Communicate design concerns, drawing errors, interpretation issues, and manufacturability enhancements to Outside Sales and customer technical contacts as necessary. Must be able to fully understand production capabilities and data requirements.
• Support Manufacturing Engineering and develop processes for customer requirements
• Support Marketing in the creation of customer-facing materials, literature, and websites
• Provide quick response and resolution to customer technical issues

A global leader in high-performance interconnect solutions is seeking a Field Applications Engineer for military and aerospace customers. The role is to drive commercial and test & measurement markets and drive customers in Military & Defense, Aerospace, Space, Industrial, and Test & Measurement.

The Applications Engineer (AE) supports Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams to provide technical support for new and existing customers. The AE develops and maintains relations with customers’ design and manufacturing engineers by understanding problems and providing solutions via presentations, proposals, quotations, and samples.
