As a Field Application Specialist, you will provide high-level, in-depth technical support and expertise to customers using Sartorius BioAnalytics products (specifically the CellCelector automated cell imaging and picking system) and pre-sales support to sales colleagues throughout the sales process. This includes pre-sale presentations, product demonstrations, and customer training.

This role will be responsible for a region consisting of New England, New York, and Eastern Canada. The candidate must reside in—or be willing to relocate to—the greater Boston, MA, or New York City area.

What You Will Accomplish Together With Us

  • Work with sales colleagues to drive sales and use Sartorius CellCelector instruments, reagents, and consumables.
  • Identify customer needs and/or problems, be knowledgeable in all related products, and introduce solutions to needs/problems where appropriate.
  • Perform product demonstrations by establishing a detailed experimental plan and setting appropriate and reasonable expectations. Identify necessary reagents and guide customers through experimental optimization and execution. Help with assay set-up and train relevant lab personnel.
  • Work with established and new customers: Conduct on-site training and remote support sessions of the CellCelector instrumentation and software. Support ongoing assays and stay engaged with users to drive expansion into new application areas using Sartorius technology.
  • Collect customer feedback to drive new product development.
  • You will be expected to maintain diligent records of customer interactions and training in the CRM database.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Expect up to 50% overnight travel on business days.

What Will Convince Us

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science Biology or related field.
  • 2+ years of field experience in a similar application scientist/technical support role OR combination of lab experience with customer support roles (e.g., work in core lab facilities).
  • 2+ years of experience training lab personnel in using instruments and software.
  • Extensive experience in cell biology, cell culture and microscopy techniques, and/or cell line development and antibody discovery workflows.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
