Job summary

Telit Cinterion is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to support pre-sales and lead customer implementations for deviceWISE Edge, deviceWISE Cloud, and AI/Visual Inspection solutions. You will design demos, translate use cases into architectures, and guide deployments across production lines and plants.

You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product teams, enabling customer teams with training and documentation while traveling 40–60% as needed for successful go-lives and ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 2–6 years of Field Applications Engineering, Controls Engineering, SCADA/IIoT integration, or similar role.
• Experience in industrial automation or IIoT ecosystems is a plus.
• Strong ability to translate customer requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to design and deliver demos, proofs of concept, and workshops.
• Translate customer use cases into solution architectures using deviceWISE, AI pipelines, SPC, and cloud/edge orchestration.
• Present technical capabilities to engineering, IT/OT, and executive stakeholders.
• Lead customer onboarding, configuration, edge setup, and AI model integration.
• Configure workflows for PLC connectivity, data collection, and enterprise integrations.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues in customer environments including edge devices and cloud platforms.
• Escalate critical issues with clear docs and reproduction steps.
• Collaborate with Product Management to validate features and provide customer feedback.
• Create and contribute to knowledge bases and implementation playbooks.
• Travel 40–60% for implementations and production support.

Telit is seeking a skilled, customer-focused Field Applications Engineer to support pre-sales activities and lead customer implementations for deviceWISE Edge, deviceWISE Cloud, and AI/Visual Inspection solutions. This role combines solution engineering, hands-on integration, configuration, commissioning, and technical support across industrial automation, connected machines, and AI-enabled manufacturing environments. The FAE helps customers achieve value quickly by designing solutions, building proofs of concept, deploying integrations, and enabling customer teams to scale across production lines, plants, and enterprise operations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to design and deliver demos, proofs of concept, and technical workshops.
• Translate customer use cases into solution architectures using deviceWISE, Visual Inspection, AI pipelines, SPC integration, and cloud/edge orchestration.
• Present technical capabilities clearly to engineering, IT/OT, and executive stakeholders.
• Lead customer onboarding, solution configuration, edge connectivity setup, logic development, and AI model integration.
• Implement workflows for PLC connectivity, machine data collection, quality use cases, and enterprise integrations.
• Configure and tune deviceWISE logic, tags, triggers, Visual Inspection test flows, and dashboards.
• Support deployments across multiple production lines, stations, and plants.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in customer environments, including edge devices, gateways, cloud platforms, and AI models.
• Analyze logs, workflows, network paths, and configurations to identify root causes.
• Escalate critical issues to R&D with clear documentation and reproduction steps.
• Work with Product Management and Engineering to validate new features, provide customer feedback, and test pre‑release builds.
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases, best-practice guides, and implementation playbooks.
• Enable partners, system integrators, and customer engineering teams through training and documentation.
• Travel approximately 40–60% or more, as needed, for customer implementations, proofs of concept, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Provide occasional after-hours or weekend support during critical cutovers or production events.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.
• 2–6 years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Controls Engineering, SCADA/IIoT integration, or a similar technical role.
• Equivalent professional experience in industrial automation or IIoT ecosystems will also be considered.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Ability to translate complex customer requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactive ownership mindset with a focus on issue resolution and customer success.
• Strong organization and documentation habits that support repeatable, scalable implementations.
• Experience with SCADA, HMI, MES, or similar plant automation software.
• Hands-on experience with industrial protocols, including OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, S7, and serial communications.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, such as Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or Omron.
• Windows and Linux proficiency, including basic command line, system diagnostics, and shell scripting.
• SQL and general database experience, including queries and schema understanding.
• Experience in one or more industrial environments, such as oil, gas, energy, automotive, heavy machinery, food and beverage, life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving software or configuration issues in industrial or IIoT environments.
