Job summary

Field AI is seeking a proactive Field Application Engineer to support deployment, testing, and client-facing operations of our robotic systems, including drones and humanoid robots. This remote-friendly role requires travel to project sites across the U.S.

You will be based remotely but travel regularly, with passport/REAL ID preferred for travel and site access. Work involves coordinating with engineers and customers and documenting field results for continual improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical topics for diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the country.
  • Up-to-date passport and REAL ID (or equivalent) preferred for travel and site access.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and operate robotic systems in the field and support testing/data collection.
  • Supervise remote operations and assist during client presentations and demos.
  • Facilitate clear communication between engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Document technical issues, test results, and client feedback in detail.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and suggest workflow improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate on system performance and usability.

About the Job

We are looking for a proactive and tech‑savvy Field Application Engineer to support the deployment, testing, and client‑facing operations of our cutting‑edge robotic systems—including drones, quadrupeds, and humanoid robots. This role is ideal for recent graduates who thrive in both technical and operational environments and are ready to travel to project sites around the U.S.

You can be based remotely but must be prepared for regular travel. An up‑to‑date passport and REAL ID (or equivalent documentation) are preferred and may be required for travel and site access.

What You’ll Get To Do:

What You Have:

The Extras That Set You Apart:
  • Hands‑on experience with robotics hardware (drones, quadrupeds, humanoids, or similar).
  • Familiarity with basic electronics, sensors, and robotic subsystems.
  • Basic coding/scripting skills (Python, C++, or similar).
  • Prior experience in field testing, remote operations, or client‑facing tech roles is a plus.
Additional Details:

Frequent nationwide travel required

The salary range for this role is dependent upon experience. The actual offer for this position will be based on factors such as relevant experience, competencies, certifications, and how well the candidate meets the qualifications outlined above.
