Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is seeking an OPS Agricultural Technician II for the Division of Plant Industry. This full-time OPS position conducts plant pest detection surveys in diverse settings and performs tasks for the Giant African Land Snail eradication program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver license required.
• Frequent travel including overnight stays.
• Must obtain fruit fly certification within 6 months of appointment.
• Background screening and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts plant pest detection surveys in agricultural, public, and residential environments.
• Performs activities for the Giant African Land Snail eradication program.
• Submits timely reports and inputs records into Mobile Inspection apps.
• Maintains records per program standards and assists with vehicle and leave records.
• Interacts with the public in a courteous manner and responds to consumer inquiries.
