Knights of Columbus Field Agent

The Knights of Columbus (KofC) is a fraternal benefit society for Catholic men. We are a not-for-profit charitable membership organization, and our mission is to protect our Catholic families financially while also uniting in charitable works. We help provide financial security to our members and their families through our insurance programs. In 2023 alone, the Knights of Columbus donated $193 million to charity, and our members performed 47.5 million hours of volunteer service in their communities.

The Opportunity

We are looking for Catholic financial professionals to join our team as insurance field agents. As a Knights of Columbus Field Agent, you will be able to provide various products in our product portfolio, including Permanent Life Insurance, Term Life Insurance, Annuities, Disability Income Insurance, and Long-Term Care Insurance. As part of a faith-centered organization, you will also have a unique opportunity to combine your career with service to the Catholic Church by recruiting new members of the Order and participating in our mission of evangelization.

The Team

The Field Sales team is growing, and we need driven individuals to support our mission. The Knights of Columbus insurance program has earned various accolades, including being rated A+, Superior for financial strength by A.M. Best in December 2024. Knights of Columbus Insurance currently has more than $123 billion of life insurance in force. Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors holds more than $28 billion in assets under management. To further this success, we must continue our mission to reach more Catholic members and their families, which means growing our sales team in key locations.

The Impact

The Knights of Columbus Field Agent serves an exclusive territory of Knights of Columbus families. Working with their brother Knights, our agents present viable insurance solutions and maintain constant contact with all the members of their portfolio.

The Field Agent Will Be Responsible For
  • Achieving production quotas in the Agent’s territory, as set by the General Agent and the Home Office.
  • Providing professional service to policyholders and their families, fulfilling the KofC commitment to charity, unity, and fraternity.
  • Identifying and recruiting new members to increase the potential market for KofC insurance.
  • Providing our members and their families with the guidance that fits their needs.
  • Being deeply involved in their parish and the councils of Knights they serve.
  • Learning and following all regulatory requirements.
  • Providing our members and their families with outstanding customer service.
The Minimum Qualifications
  • Knights of Columbus membership or eligibility
  • Active state life and health insurance licenses, or successful completion of the process as required by the state prior to onboarding
The Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Series 65 license
  • Sales experience.
  • Professional Designations, CLU, ChFC, CFP, CFA, or CPA

A Note About Insurance Licensing & Contracting Requirements

If we offer you an Agent Agreement, we will ask you to authorize and submit to a background check, including a credit report. We review all of these reports and documents to ensure that we are complying with the law regarding who may be a licensed insurance agent, and, if applicable, who may hold a Series 65 license, as well as to ensure our business is conducted properly.

The Following Are Examples Of Some Issues Which May Preclude You From Being Issued An Insurance License, Series 65 License, And/or From Having An Agent Agreement With The Knights Of Columbus

  • Insurance License issues - suspension, denial, or revocation
  • Securities Registration issues - suspension, denial, or revocation
  • Bankruptcy
  • Judgments, garnishments or liens – especially if unsatisfied
  • Charges filed against you by any insurance department or other regulatory agency
  • Civil litigation against you
  • Criminal convictions involving dishonesty or a breach of trust (other than juvenile adjudications) or pending criminal charges
  • Driving under the influence and license suspensions (if you will drive to meetings)
