In the Field Account Manager R&D Strategic Accounts role, you will be responsible for all sales results of mid-size and large accounts in the San Francisco Bay area, and for developing strong customer relations according to the organizational strategy for the assigned customer base. An essential part of this role is the active use of our CRM system (SFDC) to manage sales activities and customer interactions effectively, as this tool is the foundation of our sales framework and operational sales steering, and a key enabler for this role to achieve your targets as well as Sartorius targets.
What you will accomplish together with us:
- Generate leads, conduct outreach, and engage strategic accounts through calls, emails, and in-person meetings to present tailored solutions.
- Build strong technical relationships in early-stage processes aimed at driving maximal technology adoption and collaborate closely with the commercial team to ensure success.
- Execute the early-stage seeding strategy and execution model within the designated strategic account and modality segments (MABS, ADCs, Cell and Gene Therapies).
- Provide Product development (PD)/Scale-up consultancy to accelerate the molecule development lifecycle and support long-term partnerships on a modality-relevant basis.
- Present customer value based on Sartorius solutions that is relevant, digestible, and practical for the customer and their KPIs.
- Execute trials and demo activities at the customer's site in support of early-stage opportunities with a goal towards commercialization, including hands-on trials in the lab, and working closely with Field Account Specialist (FAS)/Business Area (BA) teams; maintaining ownership over the projects until the process is robust.
- Act as a process consultant for critical leads/opportunities to drive the adoption of Sartorius technologies/platforms.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to create higher market perception and successful strategies to gain business from an account.
- Frequently assess the potential of each customer and plan to realize it into business.
What will convince us:
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD would be a plus.
- 3+ years of field sales experience, with experience in biopharmaceutical process development, process characterization, technology transfer, scale-up, production, or application support in upstream or downstream would be a plus.
- Understanding of biologics drug development and application processes within multiple modalities (MAbs, ADCs, Cell and Gene therapies).
- Hands-on knowledge and proactive usage of SFDC and other CRM tools.
- Travel requirements - International and domestic travel will be required for training and commercial purposes - up to 30%.

Compensation for this position will be a base salary between $105,000 and $130,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Commissions generally range up to 30% of the base salary.
