Job summary

Takeda seeks a Field Access Manager to support patient access across OK, AR, KS and MO, reporting to the Regional Director, Patient Access, GI West.

The role is field-based with up to 75% travel and focuses on educating providers about reimbursement, collaborating with healthcare organizations, and enabling timely access to Takeda therapies. This position requires strong account management and policy insight, in a dynamic pharma environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5+ years field-based experience in account management, sales or medical affairs.
• Strong knowledge of the reimbursement landscape and the practice management environment.
• Develop and execute account-based strategies to drive patient access outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Expertise in account management, relationship development, and issue resolution.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and flexibility to meet evolving customer and organizational needs.
• Minimum of 5 years in patient services or reimbursement roles in pharma/biotech/rare disease (desired).
• Experience in healthcare policy, reimbursement, market access, or related fields.
• Familiarity with buy-and-bill and pharmacy models.
• Experience with specialty/high-cost therapies in chronic or acute care.

Responsibilities

• Optimize Patient Access: Serve as a key educational resource for providers to help navigate reimbursement and patient access challenges, ensuring timely and effective patient access to Takeda’s therapies.
• Proactive Education and Support: Deliver tailored, field-based education on reimbursement processes to health care providers, including provider group practices, hospitals, academic institutions, specialty pharmacies, and other healthcare stakeholders.
• Strategic Collaboration: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare organizations, identifying and resolving reimbursement and patient access issues to ensure seamless and timely access to therapy.
• Enhance Team Capabilities: Provide education and support to internal teams, equipping colleagues with the knowledge and tools to address complex reimbursement and patient access scenarios effectively.
• Adaptability and Insight: Stay informed on healthcare policies, reimbursement trends, and regulatory requirements to proactively address patient access challenges.
