Job summary

Ohana Fiduciary Corporation seeks a detail-oriented accounting assistant to prepare fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) and beneficiary returns (1040), process 1099s, and set up new clients and assets in the accounting system.

You will enter financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and work with the team to ensure compliance with standards and laws. A Bachelor's degree and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required; fiduciary tax experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041 for trusts and estates) and beneficiary tax returns (Form 1040 for individuals).
  • Process annual 1099 tax reporting forms.
  • Setup of new clients in accounting system.
  • Setup of assets in accounting system.
  • Enter financial transactions from investment and bank records.
  • Enter deposit transactions from electronic deposit records.
  • Submit check deposits utilizing remote deposit scanner and enter transactions.
  • Print and reconcile annual client statements and process edits and corrections as needed.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department and other company personnel to help with processing financial transactions.
  • Perform timely and accurate accounts reconciliation.
  • Detect problems and discrepancies in accounting procedures or related documentation and develop measures to resolve them.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
