Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fiduciary Accountant to manage complex estate and trust administration. As a specialized Accountant, you will oversee financial recording, track client investments using Microsoft Excel, and prepare specialized tax filings including 1041 tax returns. The ideal Fiduciary Accountant will combine strong technical knowledge of 1041 tax returns and Microsoft Excel modeling with a deep understanding of fiduciary laws to support our clients and ensure flawless regulatory compliance.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive Pay: $80,000–$100,000/yr (Exempt role, not eligible for overtime)

Responsibilities Include
  • Identify, collect, analyze, abstract, organize, and maintain facts and documents, including wills and trust documents, in accordance with compliant legal practice and procedure.
  • Organize financial statements and spreadsheets relating to client investments utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain tracking and accounting systems for client investments facilitating the preparation of United States trust tax returns.
  • Prepare federal Form 1041 tax returns (United States Income Tax Return for Estates and Trusts) and applicable state income tax returns.
  • Prepare federal Form 706 (United States Estate Tax Return), applicable state estate tax returns, and United States Income Tax Returns for Partnerships and Non‑Profit Organizations.
  • Prepare Trust and Estate probate accountings, executing full Trust and Estate administration.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships with clients and personnel to obtain and clarify vital financial information.
  • Track critical legal and financial deadlines to assure all returns and accountings are filed timely or extended when applicable.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 5 to 10 years of dedicated experience working as a Fiduciary Accountant.
  • Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting is highly preferred.
  • Proficient expert in Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience preparing federal Form 1041 tax returns and associated fiduciary tax forms.
  • Proficiency with industry-specific software including Estate Val Software (EVP), ProSystem FX, and FastTax.
  • Familiarity with federal Form 1040 (Individual Income Tax Return) and federal Form 709 (Gift Tax Returns).
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Trust and Estate legal procedures and trial balance sheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside top‑tier organizational, multitasking, and time‑management abilities.
