Job summary

Maricopa County Public Fiduciary seeks a Financial Eligibility Specialist to support benefit eligibility for vulnerable adults under fiduciary care. You will handle trust and account administration, AP/AR, government benefit coordination, eligibility monitoring, and Social Security Representative Payee duties.

Work with internal teams and agencies such as SSA, AHCCCS, ALTCS to obtain and maintain benefits while ensuring compliance with federal and state rules.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial recordkeeping, or related financial operations, including entitlement processing and/or trust administration.
  • Experience with Fiduciary Trusts and Accounting, or entitlement benefits eligibility.
  • Licensed Fiduciary with the Arizona Supreme Court.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor account balances to ensure continued eligibility for government income entitlements and compliance with resource thresholds.
  • Coordinate, process, and track financial transactions, activities, and related documentation.
  • Monitor and prepare accounting/reporting on Special Needs Trusts, Income Only Trusts, ABLE/Stable accounts, and other financial arrangements.
  • Provide guidance and support to department staff and coordinate with entitlement programs and government agencies.
  • Coordinate, apply for, renew, and maintain government entitlement benefits for assigned caseload.
  • Perform Social Security Representative Payee duties, including annual reporting and benefit management.
  • Perform financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, EFTs, and reconciliation.
