Job summary

IP NORPAC Mill in Longview, WA is seeking a Relief Team Leader for the Fiberline department. You will provide front-line leadership across crews and shifts to ensure safe, reliable, high-quality, and efficient mill operations.

The role emphasizes coaching, incident-aware leadership, and participation in training and leadership development to prepare for future mill leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with significant Fiberline or comparable process-industry operating experience.
• Demonstrated leadership potential, sound judgment, ethical conduct, credibility, and timely decisions under pressure.
• Working knowledge of process operations, critical-risk controls, and safe-work systems.
• Ability to lead different crews, communicate expectations clearly, facilitate groups, resolve conflict, build consensus, and trust.
• Demonstrated planning, organization, follow-through, knowledge transfer, change leadership, and documentation of procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews during absences, training windows, vacations, outages, and other business needs.
• Direct shift priorities, staffing, handoffs, startups, shutdowns, and responses to abnormal conditions.
• Coach operators and reinforce accountability, supporting qualification progress and leadership development.
• Lead troubleshooting and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and other groups.
• Promote safety, standard work, problem solving, and continuous improvement across the mill.
