Job summary

Chris-Craft in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Fiberglass Finisher to join our luxury boat finishing team. You will grind, sand, polish and repair gel coat to meet exacting quality standards, following drawings and using tools like DA sander, buffer and spray equipment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; experience with gel coat or fiberglass helpful. This full-time on-site role offers room to grow as you master finishing techniques on world-class vessels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; technical cert helpful.
• Experience with gel coat or paint repairs preferred.
• Familiarity with fiberglass or auto body repair.

Responsibilities

• Grinds, sands, clean and polishes to meet quality standards of gel surfaces.
• Follow work instructions/drawings for assigned tasks.
• Learn to use proper tools including DA sander and buffer, blocks, prevals.
• Efficient sanding and buffing (no burn through).
• Identify gel defects such as cracks, thin gel, pre-release, etc. and prepare parts for finish work.
• Mix gel coat, resins and mill fiber needed for repairs.
• Spot spray gel coat with spray gun.
• Fair in parts.
• Repair surface defects in gel coat (scratches, voids, etc.) using proper tools.
• Knowledge of Czone, Mercury, Volvo Vodia, Lumishore, Garmin and other systems.
• Cross-train and learn new areas and Finish Work styles.
