Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Fiber Yard Material Handler to operate forklifts, front-end loaders, and Bobcats in our paper mill. You will stage bails and loose materials, manage inventory, and support production while maintaining safety and accuracy in documentation.

The role requires physical dexterity, the ability to read orders, and basic computer use. Expect 12-hour rotating shifts within a 4-shift operation, with a 14-on/14-off style schedule in a demanding outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial mobile equipment (forklifts, loaders, Bobcats).
• Ability to read orders, compute basics, and document data.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors safely.
• Excellent communication and teamwork for plant collaboration.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, days and nights.
• 2–4 year degree preferred; training and learning mindset encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to stage bails and loose raw materials.
• Manage inventory and keep materials organized and accessible.
• Support production by ensuring a steady material supply.
• Maintain safety by following PPE and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Collaborate with team and supervisor for seamless operations.
• Read orders, perform basic math, and complete documentation.
• Conduct pre/post shift checks and basic housekeeping
