Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Yard Material Handler to operate forklifts, front-end loaders, and Bobcats, staging bails and loose materials at our Ohio paper mill. You will read orders, perform basic math, and complete documentation while maintaining safety and equipment readiness.

Eligible candidates should have 2–4 years of related education or training and a flexible mindset to work rotating 12-hour shifts. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts, front-end loaders and Bobcats.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Read orders and perform basic mathematical computations.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights).
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to procedures.
• Education: 2–4 year degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to stage bails and materials.
• Manage inventory to keep materials organized and accessible.
• Support production by ensuring steady supply of raw materials.
• Maintain safety by following PPE, lock-out-tag-out and hazard observation procedures.
• Communicate with team and supervisor to maintain seamless operations.
• Read orders, perform basic math, and complete documentation using basic computer skills and scanning equipment.
• Pre/post shift equipment checks and basic housekeeping to keep areas clean.
