Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. This role involves field work, testing with OTDRs and power meters, fusion splicing, and diagnosing fiber issues across diverse facilities.

Applicants should have fiber testing experience, the ability to read diagrams and schematics, and hold relevant certifications or 5+ years of field experience.

Qualifications

• Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, and one of the following certifications (FOA, CFOT, BICSI, Network+) or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques.
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation.
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement.
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments.
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across diverse environments including retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecoms, and data centers.
