IES Communications is seeking a Fiber Technician for installation, splicing, termination, and testing. This travel‑intensive role requires deployments up to 8 weeks with paid travel and lodging, plus a $50 daily meal allowance.
Responsibilities include cabling, termination across CAT3/5, testing with OTDR/DTX, and building network splices. A valid driver’s license and 3–5 years of fiber experience are preferred.
As a Fiber Technician, you'll handle everything from installation and splicing to termination and testing. This is a travel‑intensive role, with deployments lasting up to 8 weeks. We provide paid travel and lodging, plus a $50 daily meal allowance.
The Fiber Technician must be self‑motivated, positive, and professional, creating, developing, and implementing project process improvements. They must promote company culture, be proficient with listed tools, and serve as a liaison with customer representatives. Problem‑solving, critical thinking, reading, writing, and oral presentation skills are required. Ability to work at heights, off a ladder, in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs, move up to 75 lbs, see and distinguish colors, read small print, and hear audible signals such as dial tones. Must travel within the branch or regional territory as needed. Regular attendance is mandatory.
