Job summary

Network Cabling Services, based in Houston, seeks an experienced Fiber Technician to install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling in commercial, industrial, and data center environments.

Experience installing anaerobic fiber optic connectors is required. You will read blueprints and construction drawings, perform single-mode and multi-mode terminations, and document test results to ensure projects meet specifications.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling.
Install anaerobic fiber optic connectors with precision per manufacturer specs.
Perform fiber terminations using single-mode and multi-mode fiber.
Install, dress, label, and route fiber optic cables.
Conduct fiber optic testing using OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and VFLs.
Read and interpret construction drawings, fiber layouts, and cable schedules.
Install fiber patch panels, splice enclosures, fiber trays, and rack-mounted hardware.
Troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber optic systems.
Document test results and maintain accurate project documentation.
Ensure all installations meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and customers throughout project execution.
