Job summary

LightworksFiber&Consulting is seeking experienced Fiber Optic Technicians and motivated entry-level candidates to support fiber optic construction, installation, splicing, testing, maintenance, and repair projects across the United States. The positions involve travel to project locations, outdoor work, and staying away from home during assignments.

Responsibilities include installing and testing fiber networks, performing fusion splicing, operating OTDRs and power meters, and documenting

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• Willing to travel extensively for work, including overnight travel.
• Able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Able to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, overtime.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair fiber optic cable and telecommunications networks.
• Perform or assist with fiber optic splicing, fusion splicing, fiber testing, troubleshooting, and restoration.
• Read and interpret fiber maps, construction drawings, schematics, prints, and project plans.
• Travel to telecommunications and fiber construction project sites across the region/country.
• Complete required splice documentation and test results.

Wearelookingforbothexperiencedfiberopticprofessionalsandmotivatedentry-levelcandidatesinterestedinbuildingacareerintelecommunications.Experienceinfiberoptics,telecommunications,broadband,utilities,construction,low-voltagework,undergroundconstruction,oroutdoorfieldworkispreferredbutnotrequiredforallpositions.

Thisisatravel-basedfieldpositionrequiringregulartraveltoprojectlocations.Candidatesmustbecomfortableworkingoutdoors,performingphysicallydemandingwork,andstayingawayfromhomeduringprojectassignments.

FiberOpticTechnician/SplicerResponsibilities

• Install,splice,terminate,test,troubleshoot,maintain,andrepairfiberopticcableandtelecommunicationsnetworks
• Performorassistwithfiberopticsplicing,fusionsplicing,fibertesting,troubleshooting,andrestoration
• Usefiberoptictestingequipmentandtoolsasassigned,includingOTDRs,powermeters,fusionsplicers,andrelatedequipment
• Assistwithfiberconstruction,cableinstallation,networkbuilds,maintenance,andservicerestoration
• Readandinterpretfibermaps,constructiondrawings,schematics,prints,andprojectplans
