Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a high level Fiber Technician to support large-scale infrastructure builds within data center environments. This role focuses on routing, pulling, and organizing fiber cabling while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and cable management.

Technicians will be hands-on installing and dressing fiber cables, including trunk and pigtail connections, while following diagrams and engineered drawings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cable routing, pulling, or low-voltage/fiber installations.
• Basic understanding of fiber cabling components (trunk, pigtail, patching).
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, prints, or cable layouts.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with cable organization and dressing.
• Willingness to perform repetitive, meticulous tasks without losing focus.
• Ability to work on a team and follow structured processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support large-scale infrastructure builds within data center environments.

Job description

• Usually 4x10s, occasionally 5x10s depending on project needs
• Some crews may finish around 4:00 PM if work is completed
• Fridays often have opportunities to leave early
• Overtime available on Fridays and Saturdays

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with cable routing, pulling, or low-voltage/fiber installations
• Basic understanding of fiber cabling components (trunk, pigtail, patching, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, prints, or cable layouts
• Strong attention to detail, especially with cable organization and dressing
• Willingness to perform repetitive, meticulous tasks without losing focus
• Ability to work on a team and follow structured processes in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience specifically in ISP/data center environments
• Familiarity with fiber counts, testing, or labeling standards
• Prior work with cable dressing, rack buildouts, or structured cabling installs
• Experience with fiber testing tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.)
• Certifications such as BICSI or OSHA
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects
