Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction, operations, maintenance, and restoration projects in Minnesota.

You will troubleshoot faults with OTDRs and meters, prepare splices, and coordinate with crews to maintain network integrity while following OSHA and NESC safety standards. On-site roles require adaptability to outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/OSP or related experience.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice (single/multi/fiber ribbon) and test fiber optic cable for projects.
• Troubleshoot faults with OTDRs, power meters, and inspection scopes; document results.
• Audit and repair splice cases/enclosures; perform aerial and underground work as needed.
• Coordinate with crews and engineers to resolve outages and meet schedules.
• Use company devices for work orders, diagnostics, and communication; follow safety guidelines.
