Job summary

Insight Global seeks a mid-level installer to support Data Center, ISP, and OSP projects across the United States, determining equipment needs, routing cables, and performing live splicing in customer facilities.

You will use hand tools to complete splices, read construction prints, terminate fiber and copper, and install cable pathways while grounding IT equipment to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of commercial cable installation and/or splicing experience required.
• Ability to travel to other customer sites on per diem basis (preferred, not required)
• Must be available for rotating shifts (24/7 coverage) and 12 hour shifts, 7 days/week
• Pass a background and drug test

Responsibilities

• Support Data Center, ISP and OSP projects in customer facilities nationwide.
• Determine equipment needs, cable route and direction, and perform splicing within live facilities.
• Read construction prints, splice matrices, and cable pathway drawings to fulfill requirements.
• Install fiber and copper cable including aerial, underground, ISP routing, termination, assembly and dressing.
• Install cable pathways (J-hooks, ladder racks, trays, etc.) and ground IT equipment to meet project goals.

Job Description

• Mid-level ability to support Data Center, ISP and OSP projects in a variety of customer facilities nationwide with the ability to determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility
• Possesses advanced knowledge and skillsets to utilize various hand tools to complete splices including diagonal cutters, razor blades, ribbon splitters, etc.
• Mid-level ability to read and interpret construction prints, splice matrices, cable pathway matrices, and drawings to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled
• Perform mid-level fiber and copper cable installation including aerial, underground, ISP cable routing, cable termination, assembly, and dressing to satisfy customer requirements
• Install cable pathways (i.e. J-hooks, support rings, cable slings, cable trays, ladder racks, etc.) and ground/bond IT equipment to satisfy customer expectations and contribute to project success
