Job summary

Future, a Primoris Company, invites an experienced supervisor to lead fiber splicing crews across multiple jobsites in the United States. You will hire, train, and evaluate staff, plan projects, and manage budgets while ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.

You will interpret splice plans, read engineering drawings, and enforce strict safety practices on site. Travel to various locations is required; industry certifications and a strong leadership background are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in fiber optic splicing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Extensive knowledge of fiber optic cable types, connectors, splicing techniques (fusion and mechanical), and industry best practices.
• Proficient in the use of fiber optic test equipment, including OTDRs, power meters, and light sources.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, splice schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to travel to various job sites as required.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise fiber splicing crews, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate fiber splicing projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Review and interpret fiber optic splice plans, engineering designs, and schematics.
• Ensure all fiber splicing work complies with industry standards, company policies, safety regulations, and client specifications.
• Manage and maintain fiber splicing equipment, tools, and vehicles, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Conduct quality control inspections of completed splicing work, identifying and resolving any deficiencies.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose fiber optic network issues, including loss and reflections, utilizing OTDRs and other testing equipment.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly project reports, including progress, costs, and resource allocation.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding project status and potential issues.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on all job sites to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Manage inventory of splicing materials and ensure availability for ongoing projects.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new splicing techniques and technologies.
