Job Summary:

TriStrux is searching for a Fiber Splicer that will be responsible for optical connector assembly, termination of various configurations of fiber optic cable assemblies, and testing of these cable assemblies. The candidate must be familiar with optical manufacturing principles such as cable termination to various single fiber and multi fiber optical termini and test methods to test single mode, multi-mode, and plastic optical fiber. Must also be able to work as a team member with remote sites and outside vendors. We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure and be able to balance priorities as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for splicing both ribbon and single fiber.
  • Be familiar with fusion splice machine and OTDR meters.
  • Raising and lowering splice cans.
  • Report information accurately and in detail.
  • Assist in performing emergency restoration of fiber damage or cuts.
  • Including prepping, splice enclosure entry, building of splice enclosure, traying.
  • Must be willing to work on-call rotation, night shifts, and overtime as needed.
  • Serve as a technical resource for staff in all fiber related areas and technical procedures.
Education and Experience:
  • 3+ years’ experience in the field serving multiple carriers.
  • Ability to perform mid-sheath breakout with new can prep.
  • Ability to identify lower slack locations in preparation for splicing.
  • FTTH Fiber experience is a plus.
  • Must possess the ability to work at ground level, squat and sit.
  • Must have a good understanding of the technologies and standards as they apply to the installation of fiber optic networks.
  • Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
