Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous splicing experience highly desirable.
• Experience with fusion splicing and optical testing equipment.
• Ability to distinguish multi-mode vs single-mode fibers.
• Knowledge of universal color codes.
• Must have a driving record meeting company standards.

Responsibilities

• Splice various fiber optic cables, including single/multi-mode.
• Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems.
• Interpret maps, drawings, blueprints, and test documents.
• Perform daily tests and maintenance of splicing/testing equipment.
• Conduct optical continuity and conformance testing.
• Make splicing rearrangements on facilities in buried, underground, aerial, and building locations.
