Job summary

Mears Broadband LLC is hiring a Fiber Splicer to perform splicing, testing, and analysis on new and active networks, with involvement in network planning and construction leading up to splicing and closeout. Some travel is required.

The position requires a CMV license and preferred FTTH experience, plus knowledge of EXFO equipment. You will read specifications, ensure safety, and contribute to closeout documentation while thriving in a team environment.

Qualifications

• CMV license is required.
• Preferred experience with FTTH networks.
• Knowledge of EXFO equipment.
• Reliable and able to work in a team environment.
• Excellent reading skills to understand construction warning signs.
• Adhere to all safety precautions and standards.
• Able to work in high-stress environments.
• Travel as required.
• Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform loose tube and ribbon splicing per industry standards and specs.
• Conduct splice testing with power meters, OTDRs, and related equipment.
• Construct splice enclosures including grounding and sealing.
• Read work orders and drawings to determine task sequence.
• Ensure all splicing meets technical and customer specs; complete closeout docs.
• Prioritize safety in all work activities and follow protocols.
