Job summary

Naval Research Laboratory seeks a Research Physicist or Engineer in the Fiber Photonic Systems Section to develop state-of-the-art sensing technologies for metrology. The candidate will work on fiber optic sensors, optical measurements, and prototyping, with opportunities for off-site tests and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

Requires advanced degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with electromagnetic measurements or optoelectronics is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving and hands-on prototyping skills desired.

Responsibilities

Develop sensing techniques and instrumentation for metrology.
Work independently and in teams; participate in off-site tests.
