Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Fiber Optics Tester in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves testing and inspecting fiber-optic cable assemblies to ensure they meet engineering, customer, and aerospace quality requirements.

The candidate will operate OTDRs, power meters, and other test equipment; perform insertion-loss and return-loss testing; troubleshoot issues; and maintain quality documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience testing, inspecting, assembling, or troubleshooting fiber-optic cable assemblies.
• Experience with fiber-optic test equipment.
• Knowledge of basic fiber-optic principles and optical measurements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fiber-optic cable assemblies and components.
• Operate fiber-optic test equipment, including optical power meters, light sources, and OTDRs.
• Perform insertion-loss and return-loss testing.
• Troubleshoot test failures and identify potential assembly or equipment issues.
• Inspect fiber connectors, termini, end faces, and assemblies for defects.
• Record test results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Support Production, Engineering, and Quality with testing and troubleshooting.
• Follow approved test procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
