Job summary
LIGHTERA is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Avon, CT team and optimize manufacturing processes for fiber-sensor products. The role covers launching new processes, improving existing ones, and solving production issues to support growth.
Key duties include planning experiments, developing DFMEA/PFMEA, and training technicians. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and safety compliance are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in optical, electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of process development experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of fiber optics, FBGs, and fiber-optic sensing.
- Hands-on problem solving with strong analytical skills.
- Experience with DOE, 8D, statistics and project management.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve sensing inscription and testing processes.
- Increase throughput, yield, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Plan and run experiments, collect data, and analyze results.
- Develop and implement process improvement roadmaps including automation.
- Create and maintain process documentation and train production staff.
- Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
