Job summary

CommScope, an Amphenol company, is seeking a Mechanical Designer I for our Shakopee, MN facility to design and release 3D models and detailed drawings for fiber optic assemblies. The role requires on-site work five days a week, working with CAD tools like Creo and SolidWorks to meet GD&T standards and BOM requirements.

You will collaborate with Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure manufacturability, apply DFx principles, and contribute to new product development in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Proficiency in parametric modeling with Creo or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with drawing and tolerance standards.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform 3D modeling for new product components and assemblies.
• Create design concepts and solutions for fiber optic products.
• Document designs with drawings and BOMs per standards and GD&T.
• Manage CAD file versions in the SAP database.
• Coordinate requests for prototypes of new designs.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to meet specs.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure manufacturability.
