Job summary

CommScope is seeking an engineer for our Shakopee, MN facility to develop next‑generation fiber optic panels and infrastructure solutions. You will work with cross‑functional teams to design, test, validate, and launch products used in data centers globally.

The role emphasizes collaboration across worldwide teams, with opportunities to travel internationally and advance through a technical ladder. On-site work is required five days a week, toward a rewarding engineering career at CommScope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or a similar field.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools like CREO or SolidWorks.
• Experience designing injection-molded parts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in new product development activities and support the release of new and modified products.
• Document product requirements based on industry standards and applications.
• Design new components and assemblies and support optical and mechanical testing of fiber optic products.
• Perform component and assembly evaluation, data analysis and failure analysis; write test reports.
• Review and approve design documents for conformance to specs and standards.
• Coordinate with manufacturing on new process development during product introduction.
• Generate a Record of Inventions for innovations and IP protection.
• Develop knowledge of fiber optic products and relevant industry standards.
• Gain familiarity with lab test equipment and engineering tools and processes (LEAN, DMAIC, DoE, FMEA, MSA).
