Job summary

CTG is seeking an Eng. Multi-Discipline Technician III in Austin, TX to support laboratory testing and engineering activities involving fiber optic components and test systems.

The role requires 1–2 years in a lab, hands‑on test equipment experience, and strong attention to detail. You will assist with test setup, measurements, data analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting in a dynamic team setting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Hands‑on technical experience using test and measurement equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Good eyesight and the ability to work with very small, delicate parts.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to learn new processes and equipment quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and performance verification of fiber optic testing systems.
• Configure product samples for environmental and mechanical testing.
• Perform optical measurements using manual and automated test systems.
• Program and operate environmental chambers and test equipment.
• Set up, perform, track, and report testing progress as directed.
• Document test results from optical fiber component testing in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct basic data analysis and interpretation.
• Draft test reports using the required format and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Assist with failure mode analysis.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
