The ComTran Group is seeking a Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to support ISP and OSP fiber projects. You will perform fusion and mechanical splicing, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality fiber links. The role also involves bucket truck operations and handling aerial splice enclosures.

Qualifications

• Footwear: boots with a minimum 1" heel.
• Clean driving record and valid license.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Fiber optic fusion splicing and building splice enclosures.
• Me​chanical splicing using Unicams or equivalent connectors.
• Fiber optic testing: continuity, insertion loss, OTDR.
• Troubleshooting and repair of fiber links.
• Bucket truck operation for installation and maintenance.
• Lowering and raising aerial splice enclosures.

About this Role

The Comtran Group is looking for a Fiber Optic Splicing Technician. This role consists of all aspects of Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic cable splicing.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Fiber optic fusion splicing (includes building splice enclosures, placing inside wall mount splice enclosures)
• Fiber optic mechanical splicing (Unicams or equivalent mechanical connectors)
• Fiber optic testing (continuity, insertion loss, OTDR and fiber characterization)
• Fiber optic troubleshooting for repair
• Bucket truck operation
• Lowering and raising aerial splice enclosures
