  • Ability to work in confined spaces or manholes with strict safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily updates on completed work to support project tracking.
  • Conduct preventative inspections of fiber routes to maintain stability.

Opportunity Overview

The Telecommunications division supports major providers across North America with turnkey fiber installation, 5G network expansion, and servicing of legacy networks. As part of this growth, our client is seeking Fiber Optic Splicers to join their expanding U.S. telecommunications portfolio.

This role involves critical fieldwork connecting, testing, and validating the integrity of new and existing outside plant fiber optic networks.

This position is expected to support upcoming deployment in Montana. Travel across the U.S. will be required based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Splice, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber infrastructure, including FTTH networks and customer builds
  • Complete daily safety documentation with precision; identify and communicate potential hazards
  • Provide daily updates on completed work to support project tracking and accountability
  • Conduct preventative inspections of fiber routes and hub sites to maintain long‑term network stability
  • Interpret technical drawings, splice schematics, and documentation to determine accurate fiber counts and deployment requirements
  • Maintain rigorous quality standards in all installation, testing, and troubleshooting activities
  • Support an inclusive, equitable work environment by acting as a collaborative and respectful team member
Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience with fiber optic splicing, including single fusion, ribbon fiber splicing, ribbonizing, and cable cleaving
  • Proficient with OTDR testing and capable of identifying high‑loss events, faults, or open fiber locations
  • Experience working in live fiber closures and assembling fiber optic closures from various manufacturers
  • Skilled in terminating fiber cable with multiple connector types
  • Ability to perform and document power meter tests for quality assurance
  • Strong understanding of patch panels, pigtails, patch cords, and splice boxes
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, work area protection, electrical safety, and fall protection
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or manholes while following strict safety protocols
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate independently
  • Clear, respectful communication with team members, customers, and stakeholders
